Ghana’s premier lifestyle brand, Glitz Africa is back with the third edition of its successful and highly

anticipated event, “Glitz Style Awards”, which celebrates individuals setting trends and defying the odds

with their Fashion style.

The awards, slated for 19th August 2017, also seek to strengthen the growing fashion industry by

establishing, developing and promoting international industry standards here in Ghana. The event is an

opportunity for the fashion industry to celebrate and promote the extraordinary creative talents in

Ghana and across the African continent.

The 2017 Glitz Style Awards has 16 categories which are;

 Model of the Year

 Style Icon (Board Decision)

 Style Influencer of the Year (Africa)

 Outstanding Contributor to Fashion/Outstanding Achievement (Board Decision)

 Most Stylish Movie Star of the Year

 Glitz Africa Magazine Stylish Celebrity – (Not public voting)

 African Designer of the Year

 Most Stylish Artiste of the Year

 Emerging Designer of the Year

 Most Stylish Business Executive of the Year

 Fashion Blog of the Year (Africa)

 Best Dressed Celebrity on Red Carpet

 Fashion Photographer of the Year

 Most Stylish Media Personality of the Year

 Makeup Artist of the Year

To select the winners, the organizers approach over 200 members of the fashion industry to vote for the

front runners of this year’s accolades. The voting guests mostly include industry players, journalists,

fashion bloggers, stylists, influencers and fashion icons. Just like the previous years, the general public

will also have the chance to have their voices heard by voting for their favorites via social media.

The vote breakdown is as follows:

5. Outstanding Contributor to Fashion/Outstanding Achievement (Board Decision)

To an individual or brand with tremendous contribution to the fashion industry.

6. Most stylish Movie personality of the Year

Most stylish movie star who captures attention with her stunning fashion and style choices.

7. Glitz Africa Magazine Stylish Celebrity – (Not public voting)

An individual who embodies the spirit of the city and is an international ambassador for Accra as a

creative fashion capital

8. African Designer of the Year

An internationally acclaimed designer who has influenced the direction of fashion

9. Most Stylish Artiste of the year

To the most stylish individual who captures attention with stunning fashion and style choices

10. Emerging Designer of the Year

To an innovative and directional designer who is emerging as an influential force in the Ghanaian

Fashion industry

11. Most Stylish Business Executive of the Year

To the business or corporate personality who embodies the spirit of fashion and style.

12. Fashion Blog of the Year (Africa)

To an individual who runs a fashion themed blog, portraying consistency, originality of content, user

engagement and blog popularity

13. Best Dressed Celebrity on the Red Carpet

To an individual who most embodies the spirit of fashion and style at most red carpet shows.

14. Fashion Photographer of the Year

To a fashion photographer who demonstrates a fresh eye for images with impact, originality and

creativity; as well as one who creates beautiful images showing how fashion is more than just clothing,

but a true medium of art.

15. Most Stylish Media Personality of the Year

To a practicing media personnel who has a unique sense of style and carries him/herself in the spirit of

fashion and style.

16. Makeup Artist of the Year

To a Ghanaian based makeup artist whose skill and professional contribution has made recognizable

impact in the beauty and fashion industry.
