The Government has denied reports that it is planning to send a 12-man delegation to the UK to support Ghanaian group, Reggie N Bollie at the X Factor UK finale this weekend.

Soon after the pair booked a place in the show’s finale scheduled for the Wembley Arena, reports emerged that there are plans by the government to fly some Ghanaians to support the duo.

Reggie N Bollie are hoping to make history by being the first Ghanaians to win the competition. They will have to beat off stiff competition from Louisa Johnson and Che Chesterman to make that dream a reality.

Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare, Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, reacting to the reports said, while the government fully supports them, there are no such plans.

In an exclusive interview with Myjoyonline.com Thursday, she said “Even though I am wishing them well, even though I’m praying for them, there is no such intention of me and any delegation travelling to Wembley to watch it.”

The minister explained that “In government business, everything must be planned before it happens. All the travels that will be done in 2016 are already planned in 2015 so if you are a minister, you can’t wake up one morning and say that something is interesting [so] you will travel and go and watch. There is no such plan. I don’t know where that is coming from and I think it’s the figment of someone’s imagination.”

Even though there are no such plans, it was Madam Ofosu-Agyare’s hope that, “the Ghana High Commissioner will attend and give them the necessary moral support … but we are praying for them and wishing them well.”

Reggie N Bollie, made up of hiplife artiste Reggy Zippy and Bollie, have raised high the flag of Ghana at the ongoing X Factor reality show.

The pair has received huge support from fans in Ghana and across the world following the impressive performances week in, week out and it is the expectation of many that they win the ultimate prize on Sunday.

The three finalists, according to organisers, will sing two songs each on Saturday and one of them is expected to be eliminated on the day.

The remaining two contestants will perform their winner’s single on Sunday night before one of them is announced winner.

Artistes confirmed to perform at the two-day finale include Coldplay, One Direction and 2006 X Factor UK 2006 winner, Leona Lewis.
