Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah has been banned from football for four months over his transfer move to French club Evian Thonon Gaillard.Black Stars player Jonathan Mensah has been handed a four-month ban over his transfer move to Evian Thonon Gaillard in 2011.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled the matter in favor of Mensah’s former club Udinese who claimed the player was poached by French club Evian.
The defender signed for Evian Thonon Gaillard as a free agent but investigations by Court of Arbitration for Sports revealed that Mensah’s contract with Udinese by then had not run out.

The Ghanaian has therefore been suspended from football for the next four months starting on April 29, 2015.
French club Evian face a €1 million fine to be paid as compensation to Udinese and a possible two years ban from the transfer market.
Jonathan Mensah’s Evian Thonon Gaillard were relegated from the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.
