Embattled rapper Emmanuel Botchway, popularly known as Kwaw Kese, has been granted bail by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Circuit Court on health grounds. This follows three consecutive attempts by his counsel to seek bail application for the Hiplife artiste. Kwaw Kese was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for the second time on December 24 after complaining of severe stomach ache. He was still on admission as at Monday night. Kwaw Kese’s lawyer Nana Kwasi Boaitey confirmed the news in a phone interview with nydjlive.com. The website reports that a new plea was upheld by the court and they were processing papers to get Kwaw Kese out. Kwaw Kese was arrested on November 22 for allegedly smoking a substance suspected to be Indian hemp in public, at a drinking spot close to the popular ‘+2 Pub’ in Nhyiaeso in Kumasi. Kwaw Kese is said to have smiled at the decision by the judge to grant him bail. He is scheduled to re-appear in court on January 5, 2015.
