Lydia Forson’s self – produced movie, A Letter from Adam, has been selected to be screened at the 23rd Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in the United States of America.

The PAFF is the largest film festival in the USA dedicated to the exhibition of black films.

Each year, PAFF exhibits more than 150 films made in the USA, Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, the South Pacific, Latin America and Canada.

In 2014 some forty thousand plus people from both the film industry and the public attended the PAFF.

This year’s event is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles’ all-digital Rave Cinemas 15 Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza from February 5 to February 16.

A Letter From Adam, a Ghanaian romantic drama directed by Atlanta-based Ghanaian director Sam Kessie and produced and written by Lydia Forson, will be among the world standard black films to be screened.

It is a contemporary story about love, loss and hope that will draw audience into a realistic cycle of life seen through the pain of loss, the journey of self-discovery and the courage and strength to find hope in the face of adversity.

Set in the busy yet simple city of Accra, A Letter from Adam seeks to give the audience an often neglected truth about love – which love doesn’t always come in the form one expects it to.

Lydia Forson got nominations as an actress, producer and also a writer with the movie for the upcoming 2015 edition of Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMCVAs).

She got the nod for Best Movie (Comedy), Best Writer (Comedy) and also Best Actress (Comedy), in which she is competing with Nollywood celebrated names such as Joke Silva, Nse Ekpe Etim, Rita Dominic and Weruche Opia.

Prior to that, A Letter from Adam, which stars top actors Wole Ojo, Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku and Akrofa Ejeani Asiedu among others, was successfully premiered in major parts of Ghana.
