Beefing in the music industry seems to have come to stay as at every point in time one artiste or the other seems to be beefing with their colleagues.

The recent one is that between self-acclaimed Dancehall King Shatta Wale and rapper Sarkodie. There is also the long standing one between Shatta Wale and Samini as well as Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The latest to add his voice to this development is former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and Vice President of the International Federation of Musicians, Alhaji Sidiku Buari.

In a recent interview with Showbiz, Alhaji Sidiku Buari did not mince words in expressing his displeasure on the development.

“I don’t think that is necessary, it is about time for all of them to get together and work as a team, if you are abusing each other, it is not healthy,” he said.

According to Alhaji Sidiku Buari, as a veteran in the industry, he has been doing his bit to try to get the young ones put beefs behind them.

“In our own small way, we have been talking to them individually to be humble, to put their efforts in their performances and try to do better instead of abusing each other all in the name of beefing, it is not necessary,” he stressed.

He had another piece of advice for his younger colleagues aside his bit on beefing, “Make your business big like investing in instruments and establishing yourselves well.

‘Invest well so that you can benefit in future. Most of our musicians die as paupers and that is certainly not good enough,” he said.

Alhaji Sidiku Buari also highlighted some of his achievements when he manned the office as president of the union between 1999 and 2007.

Ghana was voted unanimously as the Chairman of the African Committee of the International Federation of Musicians in Malawi in 2002 after joining the federation barely two years and subsequently, he was made the Vice President of the Federation at a Congress in the United Kingdom in 2004.

On the local front, the Union under his watch championed several humanitarian courses through music.

On issues such as epidemic, disasters among other casualties that hit the country, members of the Union came together to compose songs to send messages of peace, comfort, perseverance among other virtues to the populace.
