The Founder & coordinator of MakeUp Ghana Connects, Rebecca Donkor speaking to the press in a brief discussion stated that, there must be unity and understanding between makeup brands in Ghana.
Why can’t two make up artists work together at a wedding for a bride? There are always cases of urgency at events such as weddings and the demand put upon a makeup artist are mostly huge hence, i believe if that particular makeup artist in charge involves the other, the work will be accomplished without thinking about any effects on exposing the clients to potential rivals.
I believe where we are in the makeup artistry is not where we are supposed to be, we can be even bigger and better and i think with the makeup Ghana connects initiative, we are working on achieving that, there have been positives and as you have noticed, Mrs Dzifa Gomashie the deputy Minister for creative arts has taken a huge interest in this.
MakeUp Ghana is a neutral grounds, we aim at bringing everybody together to help bring a rise in the industry.
Surprisingly, the Nigerian make up brands are taking over which is not how its supposed to be but there’s that sense of understanding between them
Various celebrities patronized the makeup products and as well received free makeup and other souvenirs from the exhibitors. Priscilla Agboada( Sleek Ambassador 2015) Kwaisey Pee(Musician), Zynnel Zuh, Sala, Ahoufe Patri and songstress Becca were spotted at the prestigious event.
