DKB Rubbishes ’50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians’ List
Uncategorized February 5, 2020, Comments OffGhanaian comedian and social media commentator, Derick Kobina Bonney, has taken a swipe at Avance Media, organisers of the ’50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians’ scheme, for not recognizing any comedian, in the list of winners for the 2019 most influential young Ghanaian.
Avance Media, a PR & Rating firm, yesterday 3rd February released a list of the winners of their 2019 50 most Influential Young Ghanaians.
The list saw rapper and songwriter Kofi Kinaata, voted as the 2019 Most Influential Young Ghanaian in the 5th annual ranking poll organised by the firm.
Following closely was Media General’s Berla Mundi, who was adjudged the most influential young female Ghanaian.
The ranking which celebrates young people annually features 50 inspiring change-makers and leaders making great strides in diverse industries as entrepreneurs, musicians, activists, media personalities, public servants and politicians.
However this year, the winning list did not have any comedian represented. This did not sit well with DKB, as he took to social media to register his displeasure at the disrespect meted to him and other Ghanaian comedians.
According to DKB, Avance Media will regret it if they ever decide to put his name on the list in future.
He chastised them for not recognizing his contribution to the development of Ghana comedy or the contribution of younger Ghanaian comedians but rather chose to put ‘indomie sellers’ names on the list.
“If these people one day make the mistake of putting my name in their list they’ll regret it, broad daylight insults them go chop, part of his tweet read.
He continued, “If U don’t see the hard work I’ve put into Ghcomedy, how about other Ghcomics boys doing well. But u can put indomie sellers names! Sia banku!”
