Gyamenah battled some health complications lately before his passing this dawn.

Born Daasebre Kojo Gyamenah he became popular after releasing his debut hit ‘Kokooko’ in 1999 which featured former hiplife musician now turned Pastor Lord Kenya. Kokooko for many was the first major fusion of hiplife and highlife in Ghana, charting very successful careers for both musicians.

Daasebre, who was born into a Muslim family (his mother was one), later converted to the faith taking on the name Abubakar Siddiq. Daasebre’s mother died when he was only five years old.
