THE NATIONAL WOMEN’S SUMMIT – MEET THE TRAILBLAZERS

ACCESS W INITIATIVE will be organising THE FIRST NATIONAL WOMEN’S SUMMIT in
celebration of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, a day set aside throughout the
world to celebrate the achievements of Women and their contribution to society and
National Development.
The summit will take place at the ACCRA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE
from 9am to 5pm, and promises to be a ground-breaking day as it will feature
powerful presentations from WOMEN TRAILBLAZERS across the various industries
and an eager audience ready to listen with rapt attention.
The lot of the Ghanaian woman has changed over the years since Independence and
as Ghana turns 60 this year, it is the right time to review our journey by looking into
the past, appreciating the present and projecting into the future. Hence the theme –
Celebrating Ghanaian Women 60years after Independence, the Achievements…the
Future.
This theme will ran through all the Plenary sessions which will be chaired by none
other than one of our cherished and a Giant trailblazer …Dr. Joyce Aryee. Three main
plenaries will be held in the morning and three in the afternoon. The morning
sessions are: The Corporate Woman with Panel Discussions by LUCY QUIST, CEO OF
AIRTEL, PATIENCE AKYIANU, MD OF BARCLAYS BANK and ANGELA KYEREMATEN
JIMOH, COUNTRY GENERAL MANAGER OF IBM.
The Woman Entrepreneur Session on the topic BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS INTO
THE FUTURE will have a four woman panel made up of KATE QUARTEY PAPAFIO,
CEO of REROY CABLES, ELLEN HAGAN, CEO of L’AINE SERVICES, GRACE AMEY
OBENG of FC GROUP and EDITH DANKWA of BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL TIMES.
There will also be a WOMEN AND HEALTH Session led by MARIE STOPES GHANA
which will be followed by a session on PERSONAL IMAGE and GROOMING titled
WEAR YOUR CONFIDENCE by DZIGBORDI DOSOO, CEO of ALLURE GROUP.
The final session for the day will be the YOUTH MOTIVATION SESSION titled
TAKING THE FUTURE, and it will be handled by DR. ZANETOR RAWLINGS, MP for
KLOTTEY-KORLE, EUGENIA TACHIE-MENSON of YOUNG EDUCATORS FOUNDATION
and THERESA AYOADE, CEO of CHARTERHOUSE.

Of course wherever women gather, there should be an opportunity to shop. So
running alongside the Summit will be a mini 1-day expo of Women in Business,
with carefully selected exhibitions ranging from unique Food concepts to
specialised Fashion and Beauty.
Its truly an exciting time to be a woman and the Summit promises to inspire and
motivate Women to explore their fullest potential at work, home, in our
communities and the Nation.
