The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana’s Leading Events and Audio-Visual Production Company,
Charterhouse Productions and Executive Director of The Multiple Concepts Group, Mrs.
Theresa Ayoade, has been honored the MUSIC PILLAR AWARD at the fifth edition of the
Musicians Union of Ghana’s annual Presidential Grand Ball.
The Music Pillar Award is given by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), its National
Executive Committee and the Executive Board of the Presidential Grand Ball to individuals or
organizations to recognize, appreciate and celebrate their outstanding contributions to the
development of the Music Industry in Ghana.
Previous winners of this prestigious award include, Betty Mould Idrisu (former Minister for
Education), Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (former First Lady of Ghana), Osei Kwame
Despite (CEO, Despite Group of Companies), Dr. Kwabena Duffuor (former Minister of Finance
and Economic Planning of Ghana), Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo of the Christo Asafo Mission and
Ibrahim Mahama (Engineer, Businessman and brother of Ghana’s former President, John
Mahama).
Theresa Ayoade’s impact in the Music Industry and indeed the Creative Arts in Ghana is indeed
commendable, having led the team at Charterhouse for 17years, since its inception in 2000, in
creating some of the most loved, most patronized and most inspiring entertainment brands
such as THE GHANA MUSIC AWARDS (18yrs) STARS OF THE FUTURE (5yrs), GHANA ROCKS
(6yrs), MISS MALAIKA (14yrs), INTERNATIONAL MUSIC CONCERTS, STAGE PRODUCTIONS and
several TV productions.
Events like the GHANA MUSIC AWARDS project the Ghana Music Industry to the world whilst
celebrating and honoring hardworking Ghanaian musicians to the delight of their fans. Reality
shows like STARS OF THE FUTURE discovered stars like Irene Logan, Efya, Wiyaala, Kaakie,
YaaYaa, Adina and a host of others, whilst platforms like Miss Malaika have provided the
entertainment industry with personalities such as Berla Mundi, Regina Van Helvert and several
others. Not forgetting the wonderful musical experiences from International Artistes like JAY Z,
BUSTA RHYMES, AKON, UMOJA, BARNEY and many others which have brought pleasure to
Ghanaians over the years.
The product of University of Ghana and Achimota School and mother of two is passionate
about Women, the Youth and the Creative Arts and dreams of a future where the Creative Arts
will take its place as one of the most viable industries in Ghana, providing sustainable
employment for the gifted amongst us whilst providing homegrown entertainment to satisfy
the leisure needs of Ghanaians. Going forward, Theresa intends to embark on a campaign,
together with other practitioners of the Creative Arts industry to push for policies that will

escalate the growth of the Ghanaian Creative Arts Industry and most importantly secure the
financial security of the retirement of artistes in their old age. She also looks forward to
creating more platforms for creative expression of talented youth whilst providing more
entertainment to Ghanaians.
The 2017 edition of the MUSIGA Grand ball was held at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra,
was chaired by CEO of the National Petroleum Authority, Hassan Tampuli with His Excellency,
Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic in attendance.
The prestigious annual event seeks to honor people who have contributed immensely towards
the music industry in Ghana. It is aimed at raising funds for aged musicians in the country, so
they could benefit from their works in their retirement.
