Many stories of renowned talented people from various sectors attributes the knowledge of their talents stems through apprenticeships. This is because there are not many institutions designated to teach and train. It is for this reason that Adanse cultural troupe has decided to embark on a school tour to organize workshops aimed at teaching students the art of African drumming and dance.

Adanse cultural troupe is one of Ghana’s prolific cultural groups known for performing indigenous Ghanaian folk music and traditional dance The group has performed on some of the big stages in the country. Sharing their plans for the coming year 2025, Alex Adu, leader of the group explained that as part of giving back to society, they will embark onJjunior and Senior High school tour to train students. “This would not be the first time we doing something like this,” the leader of the group pointed out.

The school tour he explained will occur In April and May of 2025, starting from Kumasi, Cape Coast and Accra. Students will be trained in the rudiments of African drumming and dance. He hinted the possibility of awarding students who excel during these workshops sessions and appealed to the general public to support them so they will be able to cover more schools in the future.

Many musicians start at a very young age, thus mastering their talent with the passage of time. This is why Adanse’s initiative must be supported and applauded so they can help some students identify and develop their music and dance talents.
