KKD to face 7-member jury today

Uncategorized 97 Comments

A seven-member jury will today, Wednesday April 22 be established by an Accra High court to determine the fate of popular broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwa (KKD), who is standing trial for rape.

KKD has been standing trial since last year for allegedly raping a 19-year old girl, Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson at a hotel washroom in Accra.

He has, however, denied the charge insisting that their sexual encounter was consensual.

Meanwhile, his lawyers have secured a court order directing the Nyaho Clinic in Accra to produce, within 14-days, the report of a medical examination conducted on the alleged victim after the incident.

Although the teenager has withdrawn her interest in the matter, state prosecutors say they have enough evidence to prosecute the fashion icon.
