Sabelor Cultural Group recently launched an educational tour across selected institutions in Ghana, aimed at educating students on the rich cultural music and dance traditions of the country. The initiative seeks to help young people discover their musical talents while fostering a deeper appreciation for their cultural heritage. Beneficiaries of this tour included students from second-cycle schools and tertiary institutions.
As part of the tour, Sabelor Cultural Group organized hands-on training sessions covering various aspects of Ghanaian culture, music, and dance. The workshops provided students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to traditional and contemporary African artistic expressions. Topics explored included African traditional and popular culture, philosophy, and performing arts, offering participants a well-rounded understanding of their heritage.
The group also revealed that some of the young leaders currently spearheading Ghanaian traditional music and dance initiatives were trained by them in a previous program held last year. Their ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and cultural preservation remains a cornerstone of their mission.
Additionally, Sabelor Cultural Group announced that it is in discussions with sponsors to secure investments in traditional music and dance ensembles within schools. This initiative aims to provide students with better resources and opportunities to refine their musical abilities and sustain Ghana’s rich cultural traditions for future generations.
