Vybrant Faya’s management goofed in announcing his death – Nana Otu Gyandoh
Uncategorized October 24, 2016, Comments OffRegular Entertainment pundit on Pluzz FM, Nana Otu Gyandoh says the management of
dancehall artiste Vybrant Faya goofed in announcing the death of their artiste to Ghanaians.
SMF label in a statement signed by Kelly Nii Lartey Mensah yesterday, October 23, 2016
reported the death of the “Mampi” hitmaker – explaining the cause of his death as motor
accident.
“Management of SMF received heartbreaking news of the death of dancehall musician and
award winning entertainer Emmanuel Kojo Quayeson known by his stage name as Vybrant faya
at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after being involved in motor accident on the Tema
motorway, on Sunday 23rd October 2016,” the statement read.
However speaking on Pluzz FM, Nana Otu Gyandoh says in Ghana it is only the family who has
the power to be the first to announce the death of their royal but not a record label.
“We are in an industry supposedly built on sentiments culturally so we have to act, learn and do
right… SMF should come out and apologise for what they have done earlier on and move on
from the point of view as Ghanaians because it could happen to any of them. SMF goofed big
time by being the first to release an official statement announcing the death of their label artiste”.
They don’t have that power to do that. They must apologise to Ghanaians and the family of
Vybrant Faya”.

We are shocked and in total state of sorrow. We met with Vybrant and some of his family
members on Sunday afternoon around 3pm and had a rather good discussion. Few hours after
their departure we had a telephone call that Vybrant Faya had been admitted at the 37 Military
Hospital after being involved in an accident.
A team from SMF was quickly dispatched to the hospital only to be told that our brother has
passed on. We are grief-stricken and cannot hold back our tears. Our deep condolences to the
family. Family of Vybrant Faya is yet to release official statement on the issue. May Allah find a
peaceful place for you brother till we meet”.
